An 18th century Louis XV style French Provençal vitrine, or display cabinet made of solid walnut with beautiful dark waxed patina and nice proportions. Glass paned door with decorative iron hardware and working lock and key, opening to a painted interior with two shelves spaced 8″ apart. Dovetailed drawer with divided interior and wood pull. Elegant chapeau de gendarme crown and carved apron. All original. Typical of Provence, this verrio or vitrine, was used for displaying glassware and may be hung on the wall or placed on top of a buffet, or sideboard. Perfect for the display of small collectibles or books.
