This beautiful warm brown color rustic coffee table or low table originates in Spain and dates circa 1780. The table has a unique top that was made of a single board of solid chestnut wood 1 inch thick. The top has a beautiful grain pattern with warm brown color and features many marks of use. The top was joined to the base with dovetail joints. The table base has simple square to octagonal legs and features two drawers. The drawers are decorated with elevated square panels with a molded edge and a hand-forged heart-shaped drawer pull. The righthand side drawer features an original and fully functional lock and key with an oval keyplate. The same elevated panels were added to both side and rear aprons. The table has a beautiful color with a great patina and deep gloss. The grain pattern of the chestnut wood is visible throughout all the wood on this table. The table is very solid and ready for use.
