This is a good Chinese porcelain plate or dish with a blue and white, hand painted river scene, which we date to the Qing dynasty, late 18th century.
The dish or plate is fairly heavily potted and raised on a low foot.
The plate has a light blue- green, ground glaze
The decoration is under-glaze, hand enamelled in cobalt blue in varying shades showing a waterside scene with fishing boats, rocks, trees and a hut with a fisherman on the bank in the lower foreground, all within a blue circle. The outer rim has two further circles with a repeated 4-section border pattern.
The reverse has a double circle mark to the base with three sprigs to the outer rim.
