Amazing coffee table made by the French sculptor Daniel Chassin (1950 – ). Of great originality, the table is made up of a true contemporary sculpture in golden brass that forms the base or foot of the same, and that holds a tempered glass top with blunt corners. This sculptural group made up of books, placed in different positions and planes, surprises the viewer thanks to the colors and textures it offers due to the different techniques used by the artist. Chassin uses brass that he molds and welds, and also polishes, gilds and patinas. The result is a light coffee table, which is also emphasized by glass. Signed on the spine of a book, “D. Chasin 2003”. Being of course a sculpture, it can be decorated with it as such without the need for glass. Versatility and functionality.
Daniel Chassin (1950-) is a French sculptor who makes works in brass and bronze. Sometimes with simplified shapes, sometimes with realistic shapes, and sometimes with invented or abstract shapes. In his most used repertoire is the human figure and animals, often giving them a halo of mystery. This artist always finds the balance between robustness and delicacy, where according to him “perfection resides”.
