This English wooden demi-lune table from the turn of the century (19th to 20th) features a half-moon shaped top with a carved and beveled edge. The skirt is delicately carved with a cassolette in the center, flanked with rinceaux friezes on each side. However, above each of the two front legs sits a carved rosette, a signal for a change in the decorative motifs: the sides of this English demi-lune table are fluted and rhythmically decorated with the rosettes. The table is raised on four elegant tapered legs, adorned at the top with a series of foliage motifs and sits on Spanish style feet. With its warm finish, great patina and the discreet elegance of its decorative motifs, this English demi-lune side table circa 1900 would look wonderful in any room, placed against a wall, perhaps under a French mirror or a great painting.
