With their right angle bases and descending bobeche display, this pair of Italian giltwood candlesticks make unique light sources. Hand-carved in the late 1700’s, the Baroque period candlesticks feature an elaborate presentation of curled leaves and C-scrolls. Each candlestick has been carved at a right angle and is supported by a thin base with a chamfered edge. The shape, coupled with the three cascading scalloped edge bobeches (the center cup sits higher than the two that flank it), provide an intriguing site line. Our pair of late 18th century giltwood candlesticks can be used functionally or displayed as beautiful decorative accessories.
