This is a very decorative French Faience plate dinner plate made from tin-glazed earthenware (pottery) which we date to the late 18th century.
The plate has a pan shaped base with no foot rim.
This plate is hand-painted in a flowing style with stylized flower and leaves, having a flower vase to the central well and two border designs, all the enamels being in pastel color shades.
The plate has a hand written R on the underside, painted in red, indicative of the painter or region.
