Hobie longboard shaped by the late Terry Martin (1937-2012). Features mythical artwork by Tyler Warren, drawing inspiration from the “Down the Rabbit Hole” scene in the “Alice in Wonderland” film. Hobie surfboards are not known to have artwork associated with them, making this a particularly rare piece. Tyler Warren comes from a family of accomplished artists and was mentored by the late Terry Martin, before his passing in 2012. Warren now owns a successful surfboard label, Tyler Warren shapes based in Orange County, California. Recently, Tyler was featured on the cover of Surfer Magazine, riding a self-shaped single fin at Desert Point in Indonesia.
This surfboard represents a truly remarkable piece of artwork and surfing history. Hand shaped by one of the most successful surfboard shapers to walk the earth. Terry Martin created many signature model surfboards for surfing icons including Gerry Lopez, Phil Edwards, Corky Carroll, Wayne “Rabbit” Bartholomew, Gary Propper, and Joyce Hoffman.
